A warm welcome from Cargilfield!
We hope that this finds you all well and that as we head out of Lockdown over the coming weeks, that you are full of renewed hope and optimism for the future, and looking forward to life returning to something more normal over the coming months.

Once again, Cargilfield has had to adapt to another term of remote learning with the school site closed for all but our key worker children since Christmas, although it has been marvellous to welcome the whole school community back on site for this final week of term before we break up for the Easter holidays.  We have also changed our term dates meaning children will return earlier to start the Summer Term to maximise face to face teaching in the classroom, and are running a free multi sport camp for all our children in the middle of the holidays to encourage them to get back to playing sport and enjoying being in each others' company after so long being apart.

Our aim throughout the Lockdown has been to deliver the very best education possible, whatever the circumstances, and we very much look forward to welcoming our children back on site in April for what we hope will be an uninterrupted term back at school.  Please do have a look at what we have been able to offer by watching our Remote Learning film which is on our YouTube channel here.

The resourcefulness, resilience and positivity of the whole Cargilfield community has been wonderful to see, and although nothing can replicate face to face teaching in the classroom, children and their teachers have adapted wonderfully well to our remote learning offering through Microsoft Teams, and the new skills that everybody has had to learn and master has undoubtedly given the children new opportunities and experiences that will help them going forwards.  Not that it is something that we would like to happen again!

In the meantime, please do encourage your friends and former class-mates to be in touch. We are very keen to hear more from the whole Cargilfield community and to share your news with others. 2023 sees the 150th anniversary of the School and we hope to celebrate that in grander surroundings with a performance that marks the history of the oldest Prep School in Scotland. It would be lovely to have as many of you join us as possible.

As we begin planning a series of special events to mark this important milestone in Cargilfield's history, we have created a Former Pupil Facebook page which we hope will provide opportunities for our former pupils, former parents and members of staff and friends of the school to reconnect with each other and where news, memories and photographs can be posted. We would encourage you to follow and like this page, and to forward it on to anyone whom you think might be interested.

There is also a Former Pupil Instagram page, and again we hope that you will follow this so that we can share our exciting plans for #cargilfield150 to all those with a connection to Cargilfield.

In addition, there is a Former Pupil page on the school website where you can register and update your details with us and a number of FP news items can be found there too. Please click here to give us your contact details.

We shall in touch again as our plans for #cargilfield150 continue to develop.  In the meantime, we hope you keep safe and well, and look forward to reconnecting with our wider Cargilfield community over the coming months.
School Film

We have updated our virtual film which will give you a glimpse of current life at Cargilfield since we are unable to welcome visitors in person at the moment. Of course, things are not back to normal yet, but has been lovely to walk around the school during this final week of the Spring Term to see children busily engaged in their learning and reconnecting with the friends and teachers after so long apart. Fingers crossed that the start of the Summer Term goes ahead as planned.

Watch the film here.
