For several weeks we had been meeting at a nearby apartment complex multi-purpose room. We had hoped to reach out to more area residents from that location but it didn't work out. Now we are being blessed back at our home church.
The congregation at Calvary Baptist is so generous!
They allow us to get whatever food we need from their food pantry for our Spanish worship services.
This enables Amy to prepare a luncheon following our Sunday services. We also provide a meal for the Bible study group on Tuesday evenings.
This has been a tangible way to bless these busy families with one less meal to pay for and prepare.
Three new believers baptized in August
Last month Daniel baptized three girls from our church. We are thankful for their new lives in Christ, and we look forward to seeing how God will use them for the kingdom.
We also celebrated 2 birthdays the last Sunday in August!
Mareli turned 9 years old and Sofia turned 7 years old.
We thank the Lord for their lives!
News & Notes...
Daniel continues to preach at other Hispanic churches in Southern Indiana on the weekends, mainly in Shelbyville and Seymour. He was the main speaker at a marriage conference at a Hispanic church in Seymour the last weekend of August.
We enjoyed a trip to Georgia last month because Daniel had a conference to attend in Alpharetta for our mission agency, the North American Mission Board. Some friends we know from Guatemala now live near that area, so it was a blessing to visit with them while we were there. Our pastor friend from the Hispanic church in Shelbyville came to Greenwood and preached in Daniel's place during our absence.
Our little girls continue to grow and learn new things everyday. Eliana is daily learning to differentiate between the English and Spanish she is learning/hearing and it makes conversations very fun! She is always full of energy, so keeping up with her is a challenge!
Adelina is 8 months old and has started her own version of talking and tries to outdo her older sister. It can be quite loud in our house sometimes! She LOVES Eliana and constantly needs to be watching her. No one gets the deep belly laughs out of Adelina like Eliana does. She is trying to crawl and it won't be long before we'll be running after both of them!
Prayer Requests
Please pray:
for continued wisdom
for some members of our church family whose deep hurts from the past affect their daily lives as well as their desire to live the Christian life. Pray for peace and freedom from these hurts, so they may truly surrender their lives to the Lord. Pray that they will make coming to church a priority and desire to have fellowship with other believers.
