President's Message
Welcome everyone to the June edition of our newsletter.
We have quite a lot of things happening in the next few months. Firstly we have the Tanks Markets on Sunday 26th June which we regularly attend to promote our Centre and use it to raise much needed funds to service the growth of our Spiritual Centre. We would love all hands on deck for this special yearly event and all help is welcomed. If you could let Dot or myself know if you can make it and we will put you on the list.
Again to further help our Centre and bring in more members, readers and healers, the Committee has decided to hold an Open Day at the Centre on Saturday 20th August. Last year we had an highly successful time with many of our Tablelands friends coming down to visit us for the day. Most have already committed to coming again this year. Entry will be free on the day with readings and healing available for our normal price. Books and Bric-a-brac items will be available for sale. With this mind we are asking any members or friends to donate any unwanted items or books to help raise funds at the Open Day. Please understand we cannot accept electrical goods or large items. Items can be left at the Centre so please give generously.
Our Centre also has a donation box raising funds for the the upcoming cancer Relay for Life and we ask you to put in any loose change or notes to help raise valuable funds for this needy cause.
Just a reminder that the cost of readings and healings will rise to $15 per session with concessions still available from the 1st of July. This price increase is necessary to keep up with our rising costs but are still far cheaper than other equivalent services. Entry will still be $5.
Last and not least, with the resignation of the Vice President last month, we are happy to announce the appointment of Joe Patane as the new Vice President. Joe is very popular and it was an overwhelming view that he would be the best fit for the position. Thanks Joe.

Message from the Secretary
Hello Everyone,
Now it's my turn to have a word!!
Come September, and the AGM of the Spiritual Centre, I will have been in the post of Secretary for 4 years. I have decided that, this year, I will not be putting myself forward for re election. This will give space for somebody else to make this valuable and worthwhile contribution to the Centre.
OK, so what is involved in being Secretary? You could expect to spend a couple of hours a week, mainly on the computer. You would be responsible for:
- checking and responding to emails
- doing mailouts - including the weekly What's On list and monthly Newsletter
- keeping the membership list and mailout list up to date.
- Committee Meetings - sending out the agenda - taking minutes of the meeting - typing up minutes and distributing.
- keep the diary for Centre bookings
- keep the Centre's mobile phone - on average there are 2 to 3 calls per week.
With 3 months to go until the AGM we have plenty of time for a full handover. This may look like a long list but most of it only needs your attention as and when it happens. You will be given the Centre's laptop, printer, external hard drive and the mobile phone.
I have thoroughly enjoyed making this my contribution to the Centre. Remember 'contribution' is all about spiritual growth. You can be creative and put your own stamp on such things as the weekly What's On list and Newsletter. You would have the support of the Committee and especially the President so you're not alone.

Women's EFT Tapping Circle

We are a dynamic group of Spirited Women, tapping away our cares and woes together in a supportive safe and spirited tapping Circle.
You Don't Have to Know How to Tap to Join In - We will teach you quickly and easily!
This tapping circle is designed to be dynamic, sacred and therapeutic. We will be tapping on generic issues like anxiety and phobias, plus any other issues the women feel they may like to work on. The tapping circle is a collaborative, safe and respectful environment where we can tap for ourselves as we tap for others, using the EFT process of 'borrowing benefits'.
Run by Deb Selway, PhD, Counsellor, Hypnotherapist & EFT practitioner. Deb has been personally tapping for years and uses EFT as a valuable tool in counselling sessions. She is an Accredited Certified Advanced EFT Practitioner (AAMET) and has a Master of Guidance and Counselling .

Thursday Evenings:
6.30pm to 9pm Cairns Spiritual Centre Mentoring Group meets.
We have now incorporated Steve's Monday night Channelling sessions into the Thursday Mentoring. Channelling will be on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month.
The topics for June are as follows:
2nd June - Channelling with Steve.
Steve sets the scene with candles and music and everyone settles into a meditative state in preparation for connecting with our higher self and guides.
The focus tonight will be on Psychometry so can you please bring along a piece of jewellery or a personal object. Psychometry is the ability to sense or "read" the history of an object by touching it.
The evening ends with a group sharing.
9th June - Pendulums with Ricky
Pendulums have been used as a divination tool for thousands of years. Tonight we will learn about the history of pendulums and all the different shapes and forms they can take. We will, of course, be learning how to use the pendulum.
If you have your own pendulum then please bring it along. There will also be some pendulums on sale that you can purchase.
16th June - Channelling with Steve
Once the scene has been set, the focus for tonight will be getting in touch with our loved ones who have passed.
23rd June - Crystals with Steve
Steve will be exploring crystals and their healing properties.
30th June - Law of Attraction -

In his book “Bridge Across Forever, a True Love Story” Richard Bach says that when two people come together in a relationship it is like two halves of a circle joining. It seems complete until one party or the other tries to control the circle.
 This is how it feels for most people in the early stages of a relationship, it feels complete. What happens afterwards can often be like negotiating a minefield. Most of us have been there but why does something so wonderful go so wrong? Even in long term relationships the polish can dull a little so this evening is not just for those who have lost in the game of love, it is for everyone.
Tonight we will look at such things as the law of attraction, what we are attracted to and we will also delve deeper into your unconscious expectations. The aim is to raise awareness of your unique love life so that the future can change for the better. It will be fun.
Ha! I hear you say, how can this be fun? Come along and find out and bring a big notebook with you to write things down.
